Nicole Chvastek

thumbnail image of nicole chvastek linked to hi-res image Nicole Chvastek is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected broadcast journalists, producers and presenters.She loves the chase for the big story but is equally at home with stories which reveal our shared humanity. She was an on the- road television reporter for 15 years covering everything from politics to economics to natural disasters to national celebrations such as the Melbourne Cup.

She has interviewed Australian Prime Ministers and US Presidents but it is with stories which come from other places, the soldiers who fought at Kokoda or the bushfire survivors from Victoria’s Black Saturday which resonate more powerfully for her.

Nicole has worked with channel’s Nine, Seven and the ABC as a reporter and presenter on several key programs. At the ABC she has co-hosted Asia Pacific International News, broadcasting live to an audience of millions throughout the Asia Pacific.

She is currently  presenting ABC Radio’s regional Victoria’s flagship news program, Statewide Drive .

She has been the Senior Producer of the award winning Jon Faine Morning Show with on ABC Radio in Melbourne. She is also a regular on- air commentator on radio shows in Melbourne and Australia wide.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (RMIT University) and a Master of International Politics (Melbourne University)
